Ethiopian and Swiss Cultural Events Coming to Katara

Katara, the Cultural Village, welcomed HE Martin Aeschbacher, Ambassador of the newly opened Swiss Embassy in Qatar and HE Mahdi Ahmed from the Embassy of Ethiopia. Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara gathered with the Swiss and Ethiopian Ambassadors to discuss the current and future cultural relationship between the countries. The main aim of the meeting is hosting joint cultural events in the future to promote the different elements of the cultures in Qatar.

Katara, The Embassy of Switzerland along with the Ethiopian Embassy discussed the opportunities of a dual cooperation between Katara which aims to establish a long lasting relationship. The talks included a discussion of future opportunities which will ultimately allow for the initiation of various cultural events in Katara.

Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara commented:

‘It was a pleasure to meet with The Embassy of Switzerland and the Embassy of Ethiopia to promote the various components of each culture here in Katara. We look forward to igniting a relationship with the two countries which will allow us to celebrate their cultures but also provide a platform for knowledge exchange.’

    This is great event…Ethiopia is very rich in natural & historical heritages of more than 3000 years. This is great opportunity to show our beautiful heritage & culture at Katarat cultural center.
