Francophone Cinema Week
Katara DFI Cinema presents the inaugural Francophone Cinema Week (La Semaine du Cinema Francophone), a spotlight on contemporary cinema from the French speaking world. Showcasing a selection of contemporary cinema from Francophone member countries, Francophone Cinema Week will feature recent works from Belgium, Canada, France, Luxembourg, Morocco, Senegal and Switzerland.
Launching with the Qatari Premiere of Michael Haneke’s five-time Academy Award nominee and Palme d’Or winner, ‘Amour’, and closing with the French box office smash hit, ‘The Intouchables’, the programme features a vibrant mix of drama, animation and comedy, in celebration of the world’s love affair with French language cinema.

Hey’Ya: Arab Women in Sport Exhibition
The ‘Hey’Ya: Arab Women in Sport’ exhibition aims to show the modern, engaged face of Arab women, and initiate a wider – often unspoken – discourse on gender and sport in the Arab world. ‘Hey’Ya’, the title of the exhibition, is Arabic for ‘let’s go’ reflecting the athletes’ energy and enthusiasm.
